Description

In Berlin, district “Prenzlauer Berg” a huge supermarket for delicatessen with a bistro was opened, for which our company built a 2,000 m² large facade of larch wood.

On May 8th 2009, with over 500 customers FrischeParadies Lindenberg celebrated the opening of a second Berlin delicatessen market in Prenzlauer Berg. The opening speeches were given by Dr. August Oetker and the mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit. With its 1,200 m² the market has room for 5,000 delicatessen and a bistro with 30 seats.

Here, head chef Gregor Brühs coddles his guests with delicious dishes, that are prepared exclusively with ingredients from the offer of FrischeParadies market. In the future there will be offered also cooking classes, theme nights and wine tastings.

A special highlight of the market: a 10 m long fish counter, filled with the freshest catch of the oceans. Historic fish and seafood drawings were specially printed on tiles and decorate the back wall of the impressive fish counter. A walk-in cold storage was specially made for the supply of domestic and exotic fruits and vegetables.

The home of 5,000 delicacies is architecturally unique.

The all around glazed ground floor is generously roofed by a wood paneled upper floor, which looks like a giant wooden pallet. Together with the V-shaped supports, this building sets a new stress and impresses with a distinctive look. The FrischeParadies Group invested 10 million EUR in this new building, which was completed in just one year of building time. It was designed by the Berlin architect community ROBERTNEUN.
