For the second time, Europe’s leading trade magazine has bestowed the independent European Star Award to the theme park industry in Europe. With this award the Kirmes & Park Revue acknowledges the efforts within the European branch, bringing attention to entrepreneurial courage and innovations. This year’s Awards took place within the frames of the Euro Attractions Show in Paris, the largest trade exhibition in the amusement industry, on the 19th of September 2013. Park operators and manufacturers received their prizes personally.
An international and independent trade jury had previously chosen the most remarkable attractions, coasters, and theme parks in 11 categories.
We are very pleased that all three roller coasters in which we have been able to contribute in Europe, are awarded. Balder was awarded as the best wooden roller coaster in europe, while Colossos directly behind took second place. Also Mammut as family coaster get the fifth place.
For the very first time a Lifetime Award has been given, awarded to the German engineer Dr. Werner Stengel, who during the past five decades was involved in the realization of almost 650 coaster projects as well as other attractions.
